Position: Course Materials Coordinator

Summary:

Reporting to the Manager Course Materials, is responsible for every step in the process to ensure textbooks are on the shelf at the start of classes and easily obtained by students. Responsibilities include: communicating and interacting with instructors and coordinators at the University to obtain textbook adoptions; ordering new and used course materials appropriately and in a timely way; maintaining good relationships with publishers, partners, and peers; ensuring textbooks are shelved in an organized and accessible way; and ensuring returns of unsold books are completed on time.

In order to be successful in the position it is important to be organized, with regular follow up on all aspects of the job, and work with and occasionaly supervise part time staff. The goals of the position are to provide outstanding customer service to the University community, while following the strategy, policies and procedures implemented by University of Toronto Bookstores management and delivering expected financial results.

Education:

High school graduation or equivalent in education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years related retail experience preferred.

Skills:

Familiarity with a PC and good knowledge of Web based applications.

Other:

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are critical in this position.
