Position: IBM System i Analyst / Programmer

Location: North York (Dufferin & Steeles)
Appointment Type: 4 month contract position (may be extended)
Summary and Key Responsibilities:

This contract position undertakes programming projects for IBM System i including planning, programming, and testing. Work is for a distribution warehouse that includes functions for supplier service, customer service, and order fulfilment. Platform is an IBM System i Power 8, V7R3, with programs in RPG IV, RPG Free.

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

• Post-secondary training/certificate in computer programming
• Warehouse / distribution projects related to order handling, data management, integration with external systems: work flow modifications, carrier rate shop systems, EDI, label design to specification, message users based on conditions, reporting, KPI, modify tables - product, customer, order file
• 5-8 years programming experience with secure communications protocols

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

• Advanced knowledge of RPG, DB2, System i tools and administration
• Strong knowledge of personal computer hardware, peripherals, and network devices
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and become familiar with existing distribution system components in a short period of time
